INRETS
Organisation description
The French National Institute for Transport and Safety Research activities involve such diverse disciplines as economics, sociology, psychology, physiology, ergonomics, biomechanics, acoustics, medicine, mechanics, mathematics, physics, cybernetics, computer sciences, electronics and electro-technical issues.
Four key issues, including interdisciplinary projects, are at the heart of INRETS' research:
- the road safety (research on accidents, prevention and road user protection),
- the transport networks and services (Improving traffic management and intermodal complementary),
- driving aids (information, assistance, automation)
- and transport and environmental protection (promoting sustainable mobility and limiting the environmental impact of transport).
Contribution to the project
INRETS is the scientific coordinator of the project. INRETS will contribute to the collection of data concerning legislation, national regulation and user needs. INRETS will be also highly involved in the dissemination phase and the development of the methodological tools developed by the project.
