Review of current policies and regulation

Objectives

The overall goal is to provide an inventory of current policies and regulations regarding accessibility of public transport systems for people with disabilities. Each taskforce follows a particular objective:

  • To provide an inventory of the legal framework of the EU and of the studied countries on these matters,
  • To identify the relevant regulations and standards used on these matters,
  • To describe pricing strategies regarding people with disabilities and accessibility to public transport systems, both concessionary fares and subsidies and the extent to which economic incentives are used instead of regulations to improve accessibility for disabled people,
  • To analyse in particular the national provisions governing accessibility to the public transport system for people with disabilities in relation to employment and education.

Description of work

The work to be conducted in this workpakage will be to achieve with an extended questionnaire send to the National Authorities of the 27 countries of the EU and 2 EFTA countries.

The questionnaire will collect important information and short descriptions on the legal framework, regulations and provisions in each country.
