Best practices and related cost benefit analysis

Objectives

  • To review best practices, innovations and the cost benefit analysis provided in the EU countries in order to improve the accessibility of public transport systems,
  • To identify the methods to be used by decision makers for assessing the transferability of the best practices identified.

Description of work

In this workpakage the solutions to improve the accessibility of public transport systems for people with disabilities will be surveyed in all countries for all transport activities. Where difficulties have been identified in the previous workpackage, the technical solutions used in EU countries will be reported, with associated cost-benefit analysis if available.

Once the best practices have been selected the key concern will be to identify and develop transferability assessment guidelines to assist decision makers in the selection of measures to be implemented and in their implementation.
Support to the transferability requirements will be provided, including complementary measures and initiatives. Different aspects of transferability will be considered, i.e. the attention to individual technical or operational features of instruments but also how they may fit with the receptor context.
